FLOAT THERAPY

A Float Tank, also referred to as a Sensory deprivation tank, is a dynamic tool for wellness. The benefits of Floating are endless, but stem from 3 major elements: 1. Epsom Salt, 2. Weightlessness, and 3. Meditation. An individual floats effortlessly in skin temperature Epsom salt water to promote calm and peaceful relaxation, pain relief, better sleep, and so much more.

As with any therapy, with regular use Float Therapy benefits are enhanced. Stress, tension and pain have formed over time and will take some time to experience the greatest relief. Luckily, floating is a relaxing, fun and effortless way to do so. Float Therapy offers relief and benefits which are cumulative; they build on themselves with each subsequent session. We know the more you float, the better the experience. Floats themselves deepen beyond the first session. Though flotation is an "effortless" therapy, the body and mind actually learn how to relax into the Float with each session. We also encourage guests to return to Floating more than once, and to receive sessions on a regular basis to maintain their benefits.

FLOATING FAQ

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Just yourself! We provide 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner, body wash, towels, ear plugs, blow dryer, body lotion, and other small essentials. We do recommend that you bring your own comb or hairbrush. If you normally wear contacts, please bring a case or wear your glasses. All of your amenities are in one room! (The Float Tank, shower, toilet are all in one room!)

WHAT DO I WEAR?

You have your own private pod room, which includes a shower and bathroom. We recommend floating without a bathing suit for the best experience. However, it’s totally up to you!

IS THE WATER CLEAN?

The Giving Tree complies with stringent health and safety regulations. The water in the Float Pod is likely the most pristine you have ever been in! The water in each Float Pod is mostly a salt solution, which is inherently sterile. After each float and any time the Pod is not in use our state-of-the-art purification system purifies the water. Between each session every Float Pod’s water is completely purified 4 times with a 5-micron filter and Ozone technology to purify and disinfect the water. Our high standards and commitment to cleanliness ensures that each client will experience a pristine pod and suite for each float.

I'M CLAUSTROPHOBIC. CAN I FLOAT?

You’ll be surprised how much space there is in a Float tank! You can choose to keep the pod door open or shut. You can also choose to keep the light in the pod opened or closed.

CAN I LISTEN TO MUSIC?

Yes! We have an auxiliary cord, so you can bring your smart phone and play music or even a mediation app (we recommend Insight Timer – it’s free!)

WHAT IF I FALL ASLEEP?

Many Floaters experience a sleep-like state. This is completely normal. The water supports you, and because you are weightless, there are no sensory cues which tell your body to roll over.

IS IT THE SAME AS BEING IN A HOT TUB?

The temperature of the pod is 93.1 degrees. This is the average human body temperature. The pod has 10 inches of water with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. Thus, this feels much different than being submerged in a hot tub (there are no jets) or floating in a pool (because there is so much Epsom salt, you do not have to try to float.) The room is set to 80 degrees, so you will be comfortable.

TESTIMONIALS FROM OUR FLOATERS

Don’t Take Just Our Word For It

Had my first experience with floating tonight and it was amazing! If you hesitant about going-don’t be, book a session! Very relaxing experience. The facility is truly gorgeous. After my float I picked up some products on my way out and a delicious cupcake! I’ll definitely be back for more sessions and can’t wait to try the coffee and other drinks!

What a Great experience. Happy to see new and innovative businesses open in downtown Scranton. I brought my pregnant wife here and we both loved it. Float float float!

Mike Urban

Such a beautiful establishment!! Yesterday I had my first floating experience and it was so relaxing and I slept great last night! I highly suggest anyone with sore muscles or who has trouble sleeping to try floating. They also have a huge variety of teas and drinks. Do your mind and body a favor and check it out!!

I had a wonderful experience at The Giving Tree. The staff are incredibly thoughtful, helpful, and kind. The float was SO relaxing...unlike anything I had experienced before. I had an amazing smoothie bowl afterwards, and I’ll definitely be back again.

Meghan Hubert

Awesome floating experience. Took some time to quiet my brain, but once I got comfortable it was a refreshing break from the world.

Tom DePietro

What a beautiful, inviting facility. As for floating/the pod, you're deprived of visual & audio input should you chose to close it & turn off the music. To completely "unplug", slow down & refocus my brain was fabulous. Naturally the salt initially burned my super sensitive skin but w/in mins, it went away. My skin now feels great. And I slept like a baby afterwards!
